Another Championship Season for Golden Eagles
These days, there seem to be fewer and fewer things in life that you can count on.
But as routine as the sun rising in the morning and setting in the evening, you can count on the Feather River College Golden Eagles to play into the postseason and contend for a conference championship.
In 2025, it was business as usual for the Golden Eagles. They won the Golden Valley Conference title and advanced to the 3C2A playoffs for the 25th consecutive season. They finished 33-12 overall, 20-5 in the GVC and were ranked as high at No. 4 in Northern California and No. 8 in the state. They hosted a regional series and a super regional tournament.
Here are just a few of the highlites.
*Head coach Terry Baumgartner was named the GVC Coach of the Year for the 15th time in his 18 years at the helm. He won his 500th game in the Golden Eagle dugout this season. He also notched win 900 overall (including his time at Western Oregon) and is now 532-201 (.726) at Feather River and 902-421 overall (682).
*Scott Dwyer was selected as the GVC Assistant Coach of the Year. The former Feather River player (2013-15) is in his third season in the dugout.
*Feather River was an outstounding 20-5 on the road this year. That was also their record in the GVC, where they won the conference by a comfortable margin.
*FRC had a team batting average of .327 and a on-base percentage of .435.
*Sophomore Anthony Cepeda was named the GVC Most Valuable Player. The outfielder hit .429 with 29 RBI, 10 doubles and was walked 33 times.
*Pitcher Tanner Hail was a First Team All-GVC selection with a 7-3 record, 3.41 ERA.
*Dylan Marx was a First Team pick, hitting .394 with 34 RBI and a team-best 16 doubles.
*Shane Danley led the Golden Eagles with 46 RBI, hit .365 and was a All-GVC First Team pick at DH.
*Zane Denton earned First Team honors as a catcher, hitting .355 with 34 RBI, 10 doubles, and 2 home runs.
*Nick Anderson earned First Team honors as an infielder, hitting .327 with 22 RBI.
*Will Page-Allen was the latest in a long line of successful Golden Eagle closers, earning First Team honors. Page-Allen had 10 saves and a 2.08 ERA.
*Honorable Mention included Rocco Crow (3 HR, 20 RBI), Kolt Kurzman (.292, 1 RBI) and pitcher Jayden Andrade (5-1, 2.73 ERA).
*In addition to the above honorees, Kory Chu hit .406 with 24 RBI and Grant McGuire batted .310 with 23 RBI.
*19 Feather River pitchers combined for a 3.76 ERA, and opponents hit just .236 against them. In 395 innings, FRC pitchers allowed only 347 hits.
*22 of Feather River's 37 roster players are freshmen, giving Coach Baumgartner and staff (in theory) the majority of their roster back on campus for another successful season in 2026.
