Defending State Champions Feather River College Unveil 2025 Volleyball Schedule
Golden Eagles Aim for Back-to-Back Titles and 15th Consecutive GVC Championship
QUINCY, CA — The Feather River College volleyball team, reigning CCCAA State Champions, has announced their 2025 season schedule — and it's nothing short of formidable. With the goal of defending their state title and capturing a 15th consecutive Golden Valley Conference (GVC) championship, the Golden Eagles have strategically scheduled one of the toughest slates in California junior college volleyball.
The 2025 campaign features matchups against 12 opponents who finished in the Top 25 of the CCCAA rankings last season, positioning Feather River to test themselves early and often against the state's elite programs.
"Our program thrives on competition," said Head Coach Sarah Ritchie. "This schedule is designed to prepare us for another deep postseason run. We're not interested in padding our record — we want to play the best."
The season opens August 15 with a scrimmage at Solano, followed by back-to-back doubleheaders against Sierra and Sac City (Aug. 22), ARC and DeAnza (Aug. 23), and a Central California road trip featuring powerhouses San Diego Mesa, Long Beach, Moorpark, Bakersfield, and Grossmont.
Additional high-stakes matchups include the Delta College Tournament (Sept. 5–6), a road series against Fresno and Ohlone (Sept. 13), and a loaded late September lineup versus SMC, Taft, Hartnell, and Sequoias.
Conference play begins October 10 at Butte College, with home matches at the Quincy campus against Siskiyous (Oct. 22), Lassen (Oct. 22), and Shasta (Oct. 24). The regular season wraps up with a non-conference showdown at UC Santa Cruz (Oct. 25) before the team gears up for postseason play starting November 26.
Feather River College capped last season with a dominant playoff performance, capturing their third CCCAA State Championship in six years. The program is widely respected for its rigorous training, relentless defense, and proven track record of transferring student-athletes to four-year programs.
"We're proud of what we accomplished last year," said Ritchie. "But our focus now is on building something even greater in 2025."
