Golden Eagles Soar To Elite 8, Look To Defend Title
The Feather River College Golden Eagles continued their march to defend the Volleyball State Championship with a sweep (25-6, 25-15, 25-14) of San Joaquin Delta College on Saturday night (11/27). With the victory, FRC advances to the California State Championship Elite 8 in Fresno, California.
On Saturday night, the Golden Eagles set the tone early with a convincing 25-6 first set win and never looked back. Offensively, FRC was lead by All-American Courtney Oilar with 10 kills and Taylor O'Reilly with 21 assists. Defensively, FRC was lead by All-American Madison Gray with 13 digs.
The State Championship is being hosted by Fresno City College starting Friday, December 3rd. The tournament consists of four teams from Northern California and four teams from Southern California. The four teams from the North are Feather River College (#1 seed), West Valley College (#2), Fresno City College (#3), and American River College (#4). The four teams from the South are Bakersfield College (#1 seed), San Diego Mesa College (#2), Grossmont College (#3), and College of the Canyons (#4). The Golden Eagles will take on College of the Canyons at 7:00 pm on Friday (12/3).
