Feather River College Women's Basketball traveled down to the Valley this past weekend to compete in the 2nd Annual Pirate Crossover at Porterville College, finishing the event with a solid 1–1 record.
The Golden Eagles opened the weekend with an impressive 63–36 victory over host Porterville College. FRC was fueled by standout performances from two freshman point guards.
Keziah Maldonado-Lemus who led the way with 22 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists and Chevelle "Chevy" Roque delivered a commanding all-around performance with 13 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists, nearly recording a double-double.
In their second matchup, the Golden Eagles battled a tough, undefeated Taft College (3–0) squad. Despite a strong effort, FRC came up short, dropping the closing game of the weekend.
Feather River now turns its focus to a big road trip in the Bay Area as the Golden Eagles prepare to take on San Jose City College and Skyline College.
