Golden Eagles Take Both at Siskiyous and 1st Place in the GVC
Golden Eagles Defeat COS 6-3 and 6-0
The Golden Eagles have won 9 of the last 10 ball games in route to a 7-1 Golden Valley Conference record. On Saturday, March 28th, Feather River College hit the road and took both games at College of the Siskiyous (6-3 and 6-0). Sophomore Pitcher Brittney Byram (Reno, NV) chalked up two complete game victories by pitching all 14 innings on the afternoon. Byram struck out 16 batters in two games and tossed a complete game shutout in game 2. Quincy's McKynlee Gay lead the team offensively in game 2 with 3 hits in 5 at bats (2 runs scored and an RBI). Gay went 2-4 with two RBI in the first contest. The top of the Golden Eagles order powered FRC in game 1 as shortstop Emma Robles (Delano, CA) recorded a hit (2 RBI) and a run scored. Robles and Gay accounted for 4 RBI and scored the team's other 2 runs in the 6-3 game 1 victory. Freshman Jordan Gainey (Reno, NV) contributed in a big way during game 2 with a 3-4 and 2 runs scored performance. The Golden Eagles won 4 conference contests in 24 hours and look to continue the success on Wednesday, April 1st at Lassen (Game is TBD due to weather)
