Feather River College Men's Soccer begins the season with a 3-1 overall record after defeating Merced College on the road, Friday, September 5th. Golden Eagles Sophomore Goalkeeper Winston Jory from Brisbane, Australia was outstanding in the contest, allowing 0 goals in 90 minutes of action. Head Coach Conrad Gooley named Jory as the player of the match, stating that he earned it for "his big time saves early in the game and dominance in the air". Sophomore Diego Martin from Valladolid, Spain came up big in the highly contested match with a goal on a free kick and an assist. "It was a great game to be a part of; we really bounced back in the 2nd half and showed more discipline. We have a lot to build on and grow, we have high expectations, championship expectations."
