Men's Soccer Makes State History

Quincy, CA - In 1994 the California Community College Athletic Association introduced an award that recognizes the top in team the state for Athletic and Academic Excellence. The award is called the Team Academic Award. Since 1994 there have only been 5 teams that demonstrated both Athletic and Academic Excellence in any given year. Only 3 schools have received the award, DeAnza College in 2000, West Valley College in 2005 and 2008 and now Feather River College Men's Soccer has gone and done it Back To Back for the first time in State history. "This is unprecedented, I am so very proud of our team" said head men's and women's coach Don Williams. "When I came to this school I said that I wanted to prove that players could win, be competitive and also achieve academic excellence, this is a dream come true" Coach Williams went on to say.
