Golden Eagles Power to Win Over Los Medanos
Quincy - The Feather River College football team won its sixteenth consecutive game, dating back to last season, against Los Medanos College on Saturday by a 58-14 score. The win improved the Golden Eagles to 6-0 on the season.
Sophomore Quarterback Jared Taylor completed 13-of-22 passes for 110 yards.
The ground attack of Malik Dotson, Taylor and Da'Jon Thomas produced 464 yards on 48 attempts and eight touchdowns. Dotson rushed for 276 yards on 28 attempts and six touchdowns, Taylor rushed for 129 yards on 16 attempts and two touchdown and Thomas rushed for 59 yards on 4 attempts.
With Dotson's historic day on the ground, he now leads the CCCAA in rushing touchdowns on the season with 14. As a team, the Golden Eagles lead the state in rushing yards (2,299), rushing yards per game (383.2) and rushing touchdowns (31).
Defensively, the Golden Eagles were lead by Julian Evans who recorded 5 tackles and a forced fumble. Sophomore Joe Perez recorded one sack and had a fumble recovery. As a team the Golden Eagles are ranked 4th in Points Per Game allowed (13.2), 7th in Yards Per Game (248.3) and 8th in Rushing Yards Per Game (72.7).
