FRC Ends Regular Season with Win, Await Postseason News
REDDING--The Feather River Golden Eagles will head into the 2026 postseason on a high note after winning their regular season finale over Shasta College on Friday, 6-0.
The Golden Valley Conference champs will learn their 3C2A tournament opponents on Sunday morning. What they do know is that they will host a three-team tournament next weekend, beginning on Friday at 11 am. FRC will play the loser of the 11 am game at 3:30, with play continuing on Saturday.
They will wait by the phone with a 29-11 overall record and a final tally of 21-4 in the GVC.
On Friday, the Golden Eagles shutdown Shasta for the second day in a row, this time using spotless pitching. Jack Hanna picked up the win by excelling in the first five innings, fanning seven batters with no walks and only five hits. The trio of Tanner Hail, Ryan Clarke and Carl Colavecchio took over from there and allowed just one hit the rest of the way.
Offensively, the Dirty Birds scored twice in the first two innings and once more each in the fourth and eighth to secure more than enough runs for the win. Walker DesRosier had three of FRC's nine hits and Noah Carrington added two more. Legend Lancaster had a two-run single in the second inning to help his team build a 4-0 lead after two.
The Golden Eagles will head to the postseason for the 26th consecutive year. Under head coach Terry Baumgartner, FRC has won 16 GVC titles in his 19 seasons.
