Golden Eagles Walk It Off For 13th Straight
QUINCY--During Feather River College's 13-game win streak, they have found multiple ways to win games.
Add a home walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth to the list. Walker DesRosier singled home Carter Reilly deep into the contest to give the Golden Eagles a 13-12 win over Lassen College on Friday afternoon at the Eagles Nest.
FRC's 13th straight victory moves their record to 17-6 on the year and to 9-0 in the Golden Valley Conference.
In a slugfest that went back and forth, the Golden Eagles finally put the exclamation point on the win after three hours and 18 minutes. Reilly led off the inning with a single and was moved to second on Jackson Hertel's bunt. DesRosier followed with the game winner to send the home team and fans into celebration.
Priot to the heroics, the Golden Eagles trailed 12-8 going into the bottom of the eighth. But FRC rallied with a four-run, five-hit inning paced by RBI-base hits from Hertel, DesRosier, Nick Anderson and Kory Chu.
In the top of the ninth, Dirty Bird reliever Ryan Pineo held the Cougars scoreless to set up the climatic ninth.
DesRosier finished with three of FRC's 16 hits, and did Chu. Anderson, Luke Henderson and Hertel had two hits each.
The two teams will trade sites tomorrow, heading to Susanville to Lassen's home site. The doubleheader is slated to begin at noon.
