FRC Celebrates Sophomores with Win
QUINCY--It was a festive Sophomore Day at the Eagles Nest on Friday afternoon, with Feather River wrapping up the regular season with a 10-8 win over Shasta College.
It's always good to head into the postseason with a win, and double good news is that the Golden Eagles will play at home again with a first round series (best two of three) next weekend in Quincy in the 3C2A NorCal playoffs.
The field will be announced at 1 pm on Sunday.
Today, Feather River went double digits again with 10 runs and 12 hits to take another narrow win against the Knights. Shane Danley hit a two-run homer, while Zane Denton, Nick Anderson and Dylan Marx had two hits each.
FRC sent seven pitchers to the hill in another bullpen game, with Gunner Mountcastle earning the win with three hitless innings. For the second straight day, Will Page-Allen picked up a save with a scoreless ninth inning, allowing just one hit.
Feather River will take a 31-9 overall record into the postseason, and they finish their championship Golden Valley Conference run with a 20-5 record.
