Bio
Coach Ritchie has been the Head Women’s Beach Volleyball Coach at Feather River College for the past 11 years. She has led her Beach team to 6 Conference titles in three different conferences (Coast Conference, Big 8, & Golden Valley Conference). Her teams have also competed in the CCCAA Beach Individual Championship for five straight years, including Elite 8 finishes in 2018, 5th Place in 2023 and 3rd place finish in 2024. Coach Ritchie has led the Feather River Beach Team to the Team State Championship various times including 2017, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025. In 2022, her beach squad finished as the CCCAA State Championship runner-up and in 2024 Coach Ritchie’s squad won the first CCCAA Beach State Championship for Feather River.
Originally, Sarah Ritchie was hired as the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach at Feather River College in 2006, leaving her assistant position at Butte College. In that time Coach Ritchie has posted a stunning record of 401-117 for a winning percentage of 77.4%. She has led her team to 15 consecutive Golden Valley Conference Championships, beginning in 2010 and been honored with 10 Golden Valley Conference Coach of the Year awards and, in 2019 and 2021, Coach Ritchie was recognized as the NorCal Coach of the Year.
2019 stands as the most noteworthy year of her tenure as Ritchie so far as she led her squad to the programs first ever CCCAA State Championship, a first for Feather River athletics as well. The team's overall record stood at 35-2, winning the championship game over southern powerhouse Irvine Valley, ending IVC's undefeated season in a 5-game match that gave FRC their first championship title. Since then, with 6 consecutive appearances, Coach Ritchie has led her squad to 3 more indoor state titles in 2022, 2024, and 2025.
In her career at Feather River, she has coached 11 AVCA All-Americans, 17 All-State players, and 21 All-NorCal players. She has also placed over 100 of her players to continue on at 4-year universities on Athletic Scholarships.
Coach Ritchie currently lives in Quincy with her two sons, Jamison and Marcus.
