Golden Eagles Capture 3C2A Beach Volleyball State Championship

Saratoga - The Feather River College Beach Volleyball team defeated Fresno City College on Thursday (5/9) to win their first ever beach volleyball California State Championship. 

The Golden Eagles, the top team from the North, defeated Mira Costa College by a score of 3-2. The team of Maya Cann and Kennison Cota won in three sets to help Feather River start pool play 1-0. 

Feather River took on Ventura College in the second match of pool play, with the Golden Eagles defeating the Pirates 3-1. 

Fresno City College advanced from Pool A to create the championship battle of two powerhouse teams from the North. The Golden Eagles came out on top in with a victory of 3-1, with the pairs of Abby Cogburn/Franny Martins, Ashlee Kraft/Anna Bolich, and Cann/Cota all providing the Golden Eagles with wins.
