Beach Volleyball Start 2024 Season
The Feather River Beach Volleyball team starts their 2024 season on Friday January 26th in the West Valley College Pairs Tournament. Last season the Golden Eagles ended their season ranked number one in Northern California and ranked fourth in the state. They plan to continue that success by outworking the competition. The Golden Eagles added new Assistant Coach Morgan Hughes to the coaching staff in the fall of 2023. "Adding Assistant Morgan Hughes to the coaching staff has helped our program tremendously! She is a phenomenal beach player and teacher of the game."-Head Coach Sarah Ritchie
The Golden Eagles will be facing some division one competition this season as they face Nebraska, Cal, and Cal Poly. Feather River Beach Volleyball has recently moved to the Golden Valley Conference, which will add different competition than in the past. The Golden Eagles have conference titles in the Coast Conference and multiple in the Big 8 Conference and are now looking to win the first ever Golden Valley Beach Conference title. The biggest goal that the beach team has this year is to make it back once again to the beach state championships.
This is what Head Coach Sarah Ritchie had to say about her team. "We have a very talented group of freshmen who will come right in and play for points. Everyone is good and everyone can play at a high level! Maya Cann and Ledua Koi are currently the standout freshman. For the first time in program history, we have two AVCA beach players to watch, Kiyana Faupula and Anna Bolich! There were only ten players in the nation chosen for this honor. Emma Daugherty will be leading the one's team and expected to have a phenomenal season."
